Madonna is confirmed to be living here as of April 2019

Reinstated references to Madonna in the article that were reverted two weeks ago; Madonna has been making reference to living in Portugal for just over 18 months now and the reputable entertainment magazine Variety said she purchased this estate. Initially, I neglected to add cites because information about Madonna was already in the article; I have rectified that. The real estate listing from Engel and Volkers, which is a German company, must be an old one that they didn't take down. Just for the sake of my argument, I put CNN as a source. This is absolutely and completely and undeniably false information. You don't even have to take my word for it - check Google Maps, over at https://goo.gl/maps/5whhixmTxKEjxEY6A , and you'll be able to see that in August 2018 this place was still up for sale. Nobody has been living there, it hasn't been purchased, and as of a few hours ago it was still as abandoned as ever. I walked past it, as I do on a weekly basis.

If you still want to argue I'm not right, here's a Portuguese article which clearly states where Madonna has been living - first in the Pestana Palace Hotel, and now in the Palácio Ramalhete ( https://www.cmjornal.pt/famosos/detalhe/nova-casa-de-madonna-e-um-palacio-em-lisboa ).

I will also gladly show you photos of the Quinta do Relógio as it was yesterday at evening time, if you want.

I did not know you lived in that area. I initially did not realize the new edits, but now that you have explained about the situation, I am glad to remove the information. I regret the miscommunication. This is where the American news websites say she has been living. These websites are considered top-quality, reliable sources, but I suppose they were wrong for once. Just out of curiosity, can you please upload the photographs so that I can see them? I thank you for bringing this to my attention. I apologize about the edit conflict. Unfortunately, I've been to Sintra a few hours ago and didn't snap a new photo... however, I can show you one from a friend, taken "a few weeks ago", last time we walked past there over the day. As you can see in https://i.ibb.co/ctk60Lb/relog.jpg , the place is really destroyed, several broken windows, old wooden doors, the building itself is deteriorating a lot, the bushes and trees are (still) growing up wildly, etc. The garden of the same property can often be accessed during the summer, but not the building itself, and a report on television a few years ago showed this entire place is almost completely destroyed in the inside. So, long story short, there's no way Madonna (or anyone else, at least legally) is living here... in fact, almost every Portuguese person may know Madonna lives in Lisboa, not Sintra, since there were some infamous reports about her parking her cars for free in the city, while we have to pay for it... Madonna's purchase of the property was mentioned and featured in several news sources including Reuters, and Architectural Digest. Wikipedia edits need to be based on sources, and not on own original research. Wikipedia:No original research Reading the above comments even if the property is abandoned it does not mean that Madonna did not purchase the property at some point. If it is listed for sale somewhere now, it still would not negate the fact that it was bought by her. So please do not delete sourced information, unless there is another source stating that she never purchased the property all together. I can't believe you guys are giving me so much trouble over what is clearly and undeniably fake news. Madonna DID NOT PURCHASE THIS PROPERTY, it's been on sale for the same price for several years, and the garden - which, as I stated above, "can be accessed during the summer" - is still there and accessible as always. Since you want to continue doubting my word, I can tell you the place is currently property of Christopher Berglund, as it has been at least since 2015. But since you want to continuously doubt my word, I decided to call some people and figured out what the issue is - the "Quinta do Relógio" which Madonna supposedly bought is a different one. A local news article, https://blitz.pt/principal/update/2017-10-20-Conheca-o-palacio-onde-Madonna-quer-viver , even states it should not be confused with the homonymous one LOCATED IN SINTRA. If you take into account that "Quinta do Relógio" means "Clock's Farm", and all it takes is a clock to characterize one, this is a potential mistake that most English people, not familiarized with the local areas, could easily commit.

I refuse to say anything else on this subject, since you're just wasting my time now, and you're feeding people with what are clearly fake news.

Once again wikipedia is based on secondary sources, not original research. I'm sorry that this news upsets you, but what you have mentioned above would still constitute as original research. The article headline, you have shared from a Portuguese language publication, translates as "Meet the palace where Madonna wants to live," in Cascais, this still would not negate reports of her having bought this palace in Sintra, which was in numerous major English language publications. I have however taken into consideration your concern and worded the mention of Madonna as having "reportedly" bought the property. Certainly this is the most press reporting Relogio palace has ever received, and is now most famous for. This press coverage in itself is even more important than Madonna having bought it. International publications such as Architectural Digest, founded in 1920, and owned by Conde Nast, and Variety magazine from New York have now featured this palace. This in itself is a rare accolade for an individual property to be so highlighted, thus it is important to mention it. That's after all what sparked our interests, in even engaging in this debate here. Further, as you had mentioned earlier, I have also included that this palace is listed for sale now through Engel and Volkers. --Death Star Central (talk) 15:24, 4 June 2019 (UTC)
