I think this article should be called "Prison conditions in France", not "Prisoners." As I see this is an educational project, please discuss with your instructor about how you can write the text without using subjective terminology. For example, say "Each 2 square meter cell was occupied by 8 prisoners" instead of "8 prisoners were crammed into each 2 square meter cell."
The lead also needs to be rewritten. It should be a summary of this page, not the issue at hand. So, any discussion about the purpose of prisons, for example, should be elsewhere in the article. I approach the content of the lead like this: "If a person only reads the lead, do they learn all the important facts I want them to learn from this article?" Again, your instructor can help. I wish the article had a history section. There were many reforms to the French prison system in 1975 for example. The fr:Quartier de haute sécurité article offers a hint of this and fr:Prison has more. --Marc Kupper|talk 09:33, 29 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
