Talk:Primitive Methodist Church

Merger

edit

It would seem logical to merge the article with the rather more detailed Primitive Methodism article. But the latter needs a lot of work to tidy it up. Both articles deal only with the early history and nothing of the significant role the church played right up to union with the Wesleyan Methodists in 1932 (and in fact far beyond). Being brought up in a Primitive Methodist family and with my great grandfather an attendee of the Mow Cop 100th anniversary camp I can do some work in this area but feel it is a far bigger job to do it properly.Dsergeant 16:27, 24 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Date of merger

It is not stated in the article when the Primitive Methodists merged with the Wesleyans in Great Brtain. Footnote 3 gives the year as 1952, which is incorrect: it was 1932. Either the reference is incorrectly transcribed or the information in it is wrong. See http://www.methodist.org.uk/who-we-are/history/primitive-methodism
