GA Review edit

The article is very well written and well sourced. It's quite interesting. I believe it meets the Good Article criteria. Some suggestions for the article would be to add some more photos. A map of the avenue itself, highlighting the various points of interest, would also be a very useful thing to add. Overall, good work! Dr. Cash 02:56, 25 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

I find this article rather disappointing. It is somewhat "schizophrenic" in that it attempts to address several different topics: there is the Prairie Avenue of Glessner House and there is the Prairie Avenue of Al Capone: but they don't really have much to do with each other, do they? And so forth. Rick lightburn (talk) 22:50, 17 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

FAC Comments edit

Hello Tony. Upon reviewing this article, I spotted some minor errors.

  • When Potter Palmer's wife Bertha Palmer built the Palmer Mansion many Prairie Avenue residents moved to the Gold Coast. Place comma after Palmer Mansion. Y--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 16:18, 13 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • However, after Bertha Palmer, society wife of Potter Palmer built the Palmer Mansion that anchored the Gold Coast along Lake Shore Drive, the elite residents began to move north. Who built the mansion? If it is Bertha, place comma after Potter Palmer. Y--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 16:18, 13 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • Early twenty-first century deindustrialization, urban congestion, and historic preservation has brought the return of trendy buildings and restored as well as renovated structures. Has or have? Y--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 16:18, 13 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • As home to many of Chicago's leading families, Prairie Avenue became home to many I felt awkward when I read this; any similar term of “home”? It's redundant Y--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 16:18, 13 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • Move the picture(s) below the other to avoid text sandwiching.
    • I can't move it much lower without squeezing the refs at the bottom in high resolution viewing. I shrunk the images a bit as well, but can't do much else for low res viewing.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 16:18, 13 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • Historic preservation in Chicago has saved some of Chicago’s architectural heritage Although we were told by reviewers to avoid the use of "it", its awkward because of redundant Chicago. Y--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 16:26, 13 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
