Quo Vadis

edit

We could also mention her appearance in Quo Vadis by Nobel laurette Henryk Sienkiewicz. It is probably a good addition to Monteverdi's opera, although its mention is probably more relevant in Nero since she appears in only a few scenes. --24.91.40.69 20:23, 10 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

The "milk baths" comment is out of sequence, at best. It should not be at the end of the "Empress" section. Does it need to be there at all? I don't see that it helps our understanding all that much. How about in the "Simple English" article if there is one?Student7 17:51, 18 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Kind Gentile Sejanus

edit

"the kind gentile Imperial palace guardsman’s Lucius Aelius Sejanus" is, I assume, sarcasm? Those unfamiliar with Sejanus' career may not realize that you mean the opposite. You do mean the opposite, don't you? BTW, it's "gentle", not "gentile" although Sejanus was, indeed, a gentile. Tredzwater (talk) 01:14, 10 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Persecution of Christians

edit

I have noticed that some authors have claimed that Sabina played an important role in getting Nero to persecute early Christians, presumably because of her Jewish background and her ties to the rabbinical establishment. It would be interesting if we could get more information on that. ADM (talk) 03:53, 3 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Villa Poppaea at Torre Annunziata

edit

I note the comment that there is little or no evidence to connect the historical Poppaea with this splendid villa. But the WP entry for the Villa itself treats it as fact that it belonged to Poppaea. Could the original poster please give evidence, and perhaps alter the article on the villa itself? Cooke (talk) 16:05, 13 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Second marriage of Poppaea Sabina the elder in 24AD?

edit

That year cannot be correct. Poppaea Sabina the younger was born in 30AD. Maybe the date is a typo and it should be 42AD? 86.83.242.203 (talk) 03:25, 29 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
