According to Pausanias, this person was involved with the outbreak of the First Messenian War. A Spartian stole his property and killed his son. When the Spartan kings refused to punish the culprit, he decided to take revenge himself, thus triggering the (long awaited by both sides) war. - 87.202.167.95 (talk) 21:03, 15 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
