The result of the move request was: moved to Political Animals (TV miniseries), if it does get a second season we can revisit this later. There was also consensus for Political Animals → Political Animals (rugby) and Political Animal → Political Animal (radio show) but they're already been performed. Lastly, the consensus is that the "primary" location should be a disambiguation page and it will be located at Political animal, with Political Animal, Political Animals, etc. redirecting there. Jenks24 (talk) 08:56, 13 September 2012 (UTC)
– The miniseries is the primary topic over a politician rugby club of questionable notability. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 21:53, 13 August 2012 (UTC)
- At the very least the rugby club does not appear to be the primary topic anymore.--70.49.81.140 (talk) 03:56, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
- Oppose/Support oppose move of the miniseries WP:RECENTISM, support move of the rugby club, and create a 'disambiguation page, since there is also Political Animal to consider. -- 76.65.128.252 (talk) 04:43, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
- Comment I do think that the tv show with the Sigourney Weaver in it and critical reviews is more notable than an apparently infrequent radio show, but a disambiguation page is more preferable than the very questionable rugby club entry. In which case the current article should at least be moved to Political Animals (TV series) for consistency with other articles. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 11:59, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
- Support – I feel like this is more notable and there is a greater likelihood of people searching for this. However, I'm also fine with both being disambiguated and then the disambiguation page being created. If this page gets moved at all, I'd prefer that it just be called "Political Animals", though if any different disambiguation is used, I think it needs to be "Political Animals (TV miniseries)" as specified by WP:Naming conventions (television): "For the special case of episodic television known as "Miniseries", when disambiguation is required, use: (TV miniseries) or (TV serial) according to common usage in the originating country." Kevinbrogers (talk) 19:58, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
- Query: Does miniseries still apply if it gets a second season? I thought miniseries was literally a mini series, told, done and over in a short number of episodes with no additional seasons. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 20:07, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
- Comment: Personally, I'd say no. But when Political Animals was announced (as far as I can remember), it was intended to be a miniseries. However, lately I've been hearing rumors (mostly unreliable stuff on places like Twitter) saying that a second season may end up happening. I'm not sure though if they would bill the next batch of episodes as a second season or as the first (as they did with The Starter Wife). For now I'd say it's a miniseries, but that could definitely change. Kevinbrogers (talk) 20:38, 14 August 2012 (UTC)

- Delay, then rename "(TV miniseries)" until confirmed this is a one-shot deal, meaning a miniseries. If USA Network decides to make it a series, then move to Political Animals (TV series) and re-word the article. If it is not made a series, then it should be moved to Political Animals (TV miniseries) and added to the dab page as such. Just like Hatfields & McCoys (TV miniseries). It could be moved to the "TV miniseries" additional title now, but then we may have to move it again if it's "renewed". — WylieCoyote (talk) 01:11, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
- Comment well the point of the move is more about removing/moving what is at Political Animals currently which seems far and away not the primary subject matter. The suggestion at the minute is placing a disambiguation page there instead. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 01:12, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
- True, the rugby club needs the added suggested (rugby) in its title, as this TV series article needs changed as suggested as well. A Political Animal (disambiguation) page will then need created as there is also a Political Animal radio show article. — WylieCoyote (talk) 22:02, 17 August 2012 (UTC)

OK, so revised proposal:
- Political Animals (miniseries) → Political Animals (TV miniseries)
- Political Animals → Political Animals (rugby)
- Political Animal stays as Political Animal
- Political Animals becomes the disambiguation page, I don't think a Political Animals (disambiguation) is necessary at this juncture.
Another option:
- Political Animals (miniseries) → Political Animals (TV miniseries)
- Political Animals → Political Animals (rugby)
- Political Animal → Political Animal (radio show)
- Political Animal and Political Animals redirects to Political Animals (disambiguation).
- Option 2 is best, in my opinion. Again, if the miniseries becomes an full series, that will be another move, but I'm all for the other moves now, as they probably aren't visited as much as the series is right now. And technically it will be called Political animal (disambiguation). I suggest not moving the series till September 2012, as it is still active and a decision should then be surely made by the network. — WylieCoyote (talk) 23:09, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
- OK, I revised the last line of Option 2 so there is a specific dismabig page and both Political Animal and Political Animals redirects there. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 23:20, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
- I prefer option 2. Though the disambiguation page can sit at political animal or political animals (the lower case forms) -- 76.65.128.252 (talk) 00:29, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
- Correct. I changed it in my previous comment (the first word is usually always capped). Thanks. — WylieCoyote (talk) 02:31, 19 August 2012 (UTC)
I suggest "Political Animals (miniseries)" gets renamed to "Political Animals (TV Miniseries)", "Political Animals" becomes a redirect to "Political Animals (TV Miniseries)". "Political Animal" gets renamed to "Political Animal (Radio Show)" and recieves a redirect from "Political Animal". A "Political Animals (disambiguation)" gets created with links to "Political Animal (Radio Show)", "Political Animals (TV Miniseries)" and "Political Animals (Rugby Club)". Mromson (talk) 16:30, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
- Per WP:PRECISION, the undisambiguated term should not redirect to the disambiguated title. Either the miniseries is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, or it's not. Theoldsparkle (talk) 14:12, 21 August 2012 (UTC)
For the record the miniseries article has been viewed 147,230 times just this month alone (making it the primary); the rugby club 14,726; the radio show...919. Therefore, a dab page may not be necessary, only hatnotes. — WylieCoyote (talk) 20:32, 21 August 2012 (UTC)
- While it is Original Research, I have to believe that that 14K for the rugby club is people looking for the show. Why would a politician rugby club be drawing 14000 hits? The reason I started this discussion in the first place is because I was searching for the show and wound up at the rugby club. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 20:50, 21 August 2012 (UTC)
- I gave the numbers as an example of "views" in regards to the discussion about "primary topics". Proper article titles with added hatnotes would prevent where viewers "wind up". Type in Political AnimalS (plural) in a Google search bar and you get PAGES of listings for the TV show. The Wiki miniseries article is #3 there on my first page. The Biopolitics listing pops up when you type in "Political Animal definition". Typing "Political Animal(s)" in the Wiki search bar up top gives you a listing for all three articles to click on. Again, it all comes down to proper titling, which, when several different ones arise and aren't fixed, discussions like these occur. In retrospect, no dab page is needed until more articles with "political animal" come up. We just need to move this page to (TV miniseries) (or (TV series) if it becomes one), move the rugby one to (rugby), and radio show to (radio show). I'm happy with the latter two being moved right now, if it helps. I can move those, no problem, if that's the issue. — WylieCoyote (talk) 01:37, 22 August 2012 (UTC)
- Well we'd still have to decide where the non disambiguated links go, Political Animals and Politcal Animal. But I don't see a problem with disambiguating the articles as they are at the moment, especially the rugby one which is likely siphoning off views from this one. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 02:10, 22 August 2012 (UTC)

I went ahead and moved the rugby one to Political Animals (rugby) and the radio show to Political Animal (radio show). The miniseries can and will be moved when USA Network makes a decision. I think it's current title is fine since the searches add the (miniseries) to it. The searches should update with the recent changes. — WylieCoyote (talk) 02:23, 22 August 2012 (UTC) I've seen three notable critics who do not believe it will become a series, so a move to Political Animals (TV miniseries) might be in order:
— WylieCoyote (talk) 02:40, 22 August 2012 (UTC)
- Oppose everything so far. None of the articles are the PRIMARYTOPIC. A Political animal is a fully committed, amoral, politican. We need a disambiguation page at Political animal with a link to wiktionary. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 15:21, 31 August 2012 (UTC)
- So you mean Option 2. Darkwarriorblake (talk) 15:26, 31 August 2012 (UTC)
- I support option 2. I'm not sure if this is the primary meaning of the term but I am sure that the rugby team is not. Another move request can be performed in the future if this show lasts.--70.49.74.113 (talk) 02:34, 2 September 2012 (UTC)

Political Animals (TV miniseries) → Political Animals (TV series) – On November 2, 2012, USA Network announced the cancellation of this series. You don't announce the cancellation of a miniseries. Plus, if the show had good ratings, it was supposed to be renewed. Bob Mono (talk) 13:27, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
- Didn't they just announce that they wouldn't be turning it into a series? Darkwarriorblake (talk) 13:54, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
- Oppose per DWB, the miniseries was not picked up as a full series. It's still a miniseries, it didn't make the transition to full series (unlike say Battlestar Galactica, which was a miniseries that transitioned to full series, and for which we have a miniseries article and a series article) -- 65.92.181.190 (talk) 16:59, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
