Floors edit

How many floors does this building have? The intro says 46, the infobox says 43, and the List of tallest buildings in Canada says 45 and 46. Clarification would be appreciated. 117Avenue (talk) 02:35, 28 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

The following La Presse article, which specifically covers the tower's history, claims that it was originally built in 1962 with a total of 44 floors, but that an additional 3 floors were later added in order to make it higher than the nearby CIBC Building in what is described as an informal "sky race" of the 1960s. Hope this helps!

Funny, Google translates "sky race" as "battle of heaven" (I only know english). 117Avenue (talk) 20:37, 29 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
Yea I do think its 47, I will change the rest to 47. House1090 (talk) 23:44, 28 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for all your help. 117Avenue (talk) 01:50, 29 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

In the history PDF it gives 45 above the ground level. Is it possible that it is 46 floors, but the top floor is number 47 because one number was skipped (my guess 2 or 13)? 117Avenue (talk) 20:24, 29 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
It almost seems that even official sources seem to be confused about the subject! However, considering that 3 floors were added during its construction, I believe we should base ourselves on sources that specifically state the initial (44?) and final (47?) number of floors. Your PDF reads more like an advertisement, so personally I wouldn't really count on their numbers. There has to be some other credible sources out there that could confirm the number of floors once and for all. --m3taphysical (talk) 20:32, 29 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
A simple visit to the building to count the floors should do. 117Avenue (talk) 20:38, 29 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
I live in Montreal. I've been there. It has 47 floors (including the Altitude 737). Always has had 47 floors. I think we may just confuse people if we mention 44 floors, as construction never stopped until they finished the 47th floor.--Ramdrake (talk) 22:03, 29 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

So has anyone visited it yet to see if there is a floor 13? 117Avenue (talk) 20:58, 6 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
