Birth year? edit

Should the birth year be 1909 rather than 1898? 1909 was actually the birth year given in earlier versions of the page, but in a 2010 edit by Paul 012 1898 was introduced (plausibly a typo) and eventually made consistent across the article. At least one written source has 1909 as the birth year, and it would make more sense of her leaving school in 1925. I can't access the Google books url for the reference presently given to 1898. The Women in Medicine source was present in the original article version giving the year 1909. I don't remember whether I was previously able to check the source when I changed the date. (The page is now unavailable to me in Google Books; if it also had been then, I should have changed the citation, but that might have been an oversight on my part.) I can assure you, though, that I would not have introduced a typo and changed a previously correct value to match the typo without double-checking. Thai sources (including, in addition to those cited in the article, this recent Thai PBS documentary[1] and the shrine commemorating her memory at the school operated by her foundation[2]) consistently give her birth year as BE 2441; subtract 543 and you get 1898, so it's definitely not a typo, though I won't say for sure it's accurate, since they seem to originate from the same source. --Paul_012 (talk) 14:39, 18 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
