The place of "Nahui"
editGood day, fellow Peruvian Wikipedians!
Can someone hint me on pronounciation of the word "Nahui" which is a town and a mountain in Peru?
- It's not Nahui, it's Ñahui, and is an spaniard form for quechua word ñawi (eye). It sound more or less as "Nyawee" ˈɲa.wi, "Ja.wi
- Thanks a lot! Now, explanation. We in Russia have a highly offensive vulgarism which is spelled using latin characters exactly as «nahui». It is used as a place to offensively suggest people to go. The closest English analog could be «fuck off and go to Hell». And there's an urban legend that this place is located in Peru because someone with too much free time found Ñahui on the map of Peru! Thanks god, our «nahui» is pronounced in a very different way and the legend can be debunked. Thanks once again for clarification! Alex Kapranoff 13:59, Apr 14, 2005 (UTC)

Vandal: Wikimonitor
editKeeps on adding an external link on Peru's page to a site called Ecuaworld which displays grossly inaccurate information about Peru and its territories. No vandalism took place on brother country sites of Colombia and Chile as Wikimonitor claims. Wikimonitor must be Ecuadorian.
Moreover, reason and diplomacy dictate that Ecuador's point of view regarding history belongs in Ecuador's own website and not in the site of any other country makng it look as its own. Even though it is grossly inaccurate, Ecuaworld should be in Ecuador's site, if anywhere at all, and nowhere else.
Enough said.

Finally
editA good reason!
But You 4.239.*.* shouldn't vandalized others pages inside the wikipedia! We have deleted the site from the Peru page.
National language(s) of Peru
editThis page states only Spanish is official, but Quechua, Aymara and others are recognized as local languages in areas they are used. Demographics of Peru page states there are two official languages - spanish and quechua. Which page is correct?
Peruvian constitution recognizes Quechua as an official language, so official publications and documents could be written, at least in theory, in both languages
- It is my understanding that Quechua and much less Aymara are only spoken by a minority of Peruvians (this depending on the region of the country). In Peru's biggest cities such as Lima, Trujillo, and Arequipa, Quechua and Aymara are spoken on a very low scale. Some Universities in these cities do offer classes of these indigenous languages for those interested in learning them for educational and cultural purposes. There are also, of course, native speakers of Quechua and Aymara and their heavily accented Spanish makes this very evident in the largest cities. Thus it is proper to state that Quechua, Aymara and "other" languages (or dialects for that matter) are spoken as "local" languages in areas of more native or non-mestizo populations of Peru. --Dynamax 18:21, 14 August 2005 (UTC)
- Article 48 of the constitution reads: Official languages are Spanish and, in the areas where they predominate, Quechua, Aymara and other aborigenal languages, according to law. QVanillaQ 02:06, 30 August 2005 (UTC)

editThe user 24.203.156.160 deleted the whole article and said "peruvians are stupid" without any argument and to offend others. Please make sure he is permanently banned from Wikipedia because as a peruvian I feel offended and many of my peers have lost interest of the reliability of WikiPedia after this.
