Merge edit

Merging with article named Berchta today. Note a Google search shows Perchta is by far more popular search compared to Berchta, that's how come finally decided on Perchta (over Berchta). Perhaps it is more popular because of the Perchten. Goldenrowley 02:17, 19 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Syncretisation with St. Lucy edit

Exactly what Bavarian/Austrian/Swiss traditions represent Perchta as St. Lucy/Lucia (or the other way round?) The connection would seem obvious since the names ("the bright one" and "light") mean pretty much the same thing and according to Lotte Motz in her article "The Winter Goddess: Percht, Holda and Related Figures", in the Bohemian Forest Perchta is called Luzie or Luzia. Sigurdrífa (talk) 12:09, 14 August 2014 (UTC) This article states Perchta "was once known as a Goddess", this is inaccurate as there are still people today who venerate the Goddess Perchta. Pagans still exist.Bleujackie (talk) 16:05, 25 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
