A) This article cites no references B) It sounds like it was copied directly from the artist's press kit. C) His band "Cynic (band)" has its own page, and they are at least notable in their field. D) Masvidal himself does not have the notoriety or acclaim to have THIS much info in his article. He is the leader of an independent-label rock band. E) It hurts Wikipedia's credibility because obviously either Masvidal himself is writing the article, or someone with a vested interest in him wrote it. F) As a Miamian, I know the smell of self-promotion from a mile away. G) Edits of this article are consistently reverted by the same editor. Isn't that odd? Also, the SAME editor keeps reverting to a fluff piece on this guy's FATHER, Raul Masvidal, who is up on charges of stealing money from a public housing initiative in Miami. This editor only allows the description of the investigation to be "relating to a building contract." H) Something just smells bad with these Paul Masvidal and Raul Masvidal articles. When it's not obfuscation, it's pathetic self-promotion. This type of garbage does not belong on Wikipedia. 65.2.144.142

Whatever axe you appear to grind, it has no place here. Nobody gives a rat's ass about Masvidal's Dad - but to say Masvidal has no notoriety is to shine ignorance. Masvidal, at the very least, is known to any fan of Death metal as a guitarist from Death, appearing on the Human album, and the google test on him is enough for Wikipedia. Indeed this article needs work - certainly citations - but WP:NN would fail. A Sniper (talk) 07:58, 11 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
Paul is a living legend. 193.11.161.226 (talk) 10:07, 1 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
Agreed with A Sniper. Paul's unique guitar style and vocal ideas are revered among technical metal heads and his influence is clearly influential on todays metal scene (Exivious, Textures, Alarum, The Faceless). He was also an important part of the Florida death metal scene, I think you have no idea about the amount of interest he draws from the metal community. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.234.222.134 (talk) 08:57, 30 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
