Wikipedia:WikiProject University of Oxford

edit

Paul Cartledge's association with Oxford was as a student (undergraduate and DPhil); his entire career as a "professional" academic has been at other universities, principally Cambridge for over 30 years. Is student level association with Oxford sufficient to come within the scope of this project? It would seem surprising if every Oxford graduate covered on Wikipedia merited inclusion within this project. --The Sage of Stamford (talk) 20:51, 19 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Well, that's a question more for discussion between members of the project at the project's talk page rather than for a non-member to raise on the talk page of one article. The answer to your question, though, is "Yes, it is." Each WikiProject decide how it wants to organise itself. See also the benefits of project tagging at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Council/Guide#Article_tagging, and also (under the heading "Article editors do not own WikiProjects") the following: A WikiProject's members have the exclusive right to define the scope of their project, which includes defining an article as being outside the scope of the project. Similarly, if a WikiProject says that an article is within their scope, then you may not force them to remove the banner. Thanks, BencherliteTalk 23:14, 19 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

That list of publications is incomplete, to say the least. Where's his magnum opus? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.210.186.122 (talk) 13:57, 3 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
