SEPARATE ARTICLES edit

Patty and Selma are not the same person. Just because they have the same voice does not make them the same character. They are different people with different dreams and different experiences. They should have separate articles. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.233.36.143 (talk)

It's because their characters are so closely tied to eachother and always appear together. It's like how Kang and Kodos is just one article. Harry Blue5 (talk) 22:24, 12 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Agree with Harry. CTJF83 pride 05:45, 13 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Older sister edit

Quoting the article, we have:

  • "Patricia "Patty" Bouvier is the younger of the two" and
  • "Selma Bouvier-Terwilliger-Hutz-McClure-Stu-Simpson-D'Amico was born two minutes after Patty"

which would make them both the younger. I watched the episode given as a reference ("There's Something About Marrying", 16x10), but couldn't see any clear indication of their respective ages.
Can someone try and fix this?

Ok, someone's done it, never mind. AurélieM 12:46, 18 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia's policy is to use common name. Like Lenny and Carl, Principal Skinner and Chief Wiggum. - Unreal7 (talk) 22:03, 21 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

  • Support: "Patty and Selma" is more common. — Bility (talk) 16:50, 22 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • Support, to comply with WP:COMMON. meshach (talk) 17:08, 22 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • Strong support. It's common on TV characters sometimes without surnames. ApprenticeFan work 09:07, 23 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • Support - Last names aren't used too much in the series. Dough4872 02:49, 25 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • Strong support - anyone who disagrees is just a real-life Milhouse :P, which by the way is another example of a redirect going in the wrong direction. Green Giant (talk) 21:04, 25 February 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • Support per above. CTJF83 22:48, 25 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

The article on the characters of the Simpsons Patty_and_Selma may have false information edit

it says in the article Julie Kavner makes Patty's voice more masculine and a lower register, while Selma's voice is a little sweeter? I'm not sure who this is possible because they both sound the same...... Venustar84 (talk) 16:14, 27 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Name edit

So I started a discussion to move Milhouse Van Houten to just the first name (which is currently a redirect), but everyone there is saying it should be the full name. This is basically the same as that apparent consensus so going by that it ought to be moved to Patty and Selma Bouvier. Thoughts? DemonDays64 (talk) 04:07, 12 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Stu/Discotheque edit

Did Selma add "Stu" or "Discotheque" to her name after her marriage to Disco Stu? The article has both on different places. //[bnw] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.44.242.21 (talk) 07:40, 8 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
