Clean Up
editI marked this article to be cleaned up. It is just quotes from different books of the bible. It should read as an encylopedic entry. This is something that is better suited to wikibook then wikipedia.

A problem
editEveryone stumbles over the wedding garment. IIRC the invitation meant the gift of such a garment, to be worn at the wedding; an expensive gift. Thus the man w/o one has not just made an error but rejected the garment given. Someone must have a cite for this; explanation and cite s/b added. Cyranorox (talk) 00:01, 7 August 2010 (UTC)
- That's an interpretation I hadn't seen. I'd be interested if anyone can find a reliable source on that. -- Radagast3 (talk) 00:10, 7 August 2010 (UTC)
- It's an interpretation due to Augustine, apparently. -- Radagast3 (talk) 00:48, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
The Garment
editThe "garment" simply indicates to the King that the wearer acknowledges that their life's service to God's Kingdom has had its source in God. The "friend" NOT wearing the garment is purporting that her contribution had its source in herself - by not wearing the garment, she is not giving God the credit for her contribution to bringing about the Kingdom (and its conclusion in the Wedding Feast). This guest is suggesting that she did everything she did through her own great spirit. In fact, it is "Not I, but God's spirit working through me". I hope this resolves any confusion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.45.222.60 (talk) 07:34, 1 April 2011 (UTC)
events
editJesus told the story. I beleive he told it as different versions on separate events as the gospels have them at different times. After all, this same belief happened with the temple cleansing. I think the article should be changed to give my point. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 166.249.98.197 (talk) 19:54, 27 November 2011 (UTC)
