12 Glaciers?

The article says there are twelve glaciers, but using TopoZone, I can find only eleven (counter clockwise):

1. Palmer Glacier
2. White River Glacier
3. Newton Clark Glacier
4. White River Glacier (already listed)
5. Eliot Glacier
6. Langille Glacier
7. Ladd Glacier
8. Glisan Glacier
9. Sandy Glacier
10. Reid Glacier
11. Zigzag Glacier

Sheesh. I listed White River twice. So I found only ten. This USGS reference shows eleven glaciers, but omits Glisan. It includes two additional names Coe and Coleman. Perhaps one of these is another name for Glisan? Or maybe I've found all twelve? —EncMstr 02:28, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

A scan of both maps shows the Glisan lies between Sandy and Ladd, and is simply omitted from the USGS map. As it relates to Mount Hood, the difference between a glacier and a snowfield is a bit subjective. Photos from August of 2005 show that Palmer Glacier was reduced to the size of a football field or so, and so the presence of Glisan Glacier may be even more ethereal. FWIW. Oh, and Coleman (Coalman, by some spellings) lies between Crater Rock and the summit, and seems to be where the Hogsback is located. Coe lies due north of the summit. Both are, indeed, shown on the Topozone map. Mmoyer 16:07, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
