Wtf, Palkia?

No, that's not the final English name. It's the official romanization of the Japanese name, meaning that is the intended English spelling of the name of whom the Japanese spelling is based off. --Lividore 21:48, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

Were "Dialga"/"Palkia" ever confirmed by any official source to be their intended names? I've never seen them from any official source and I've looked. o_0 Could whoever renamed this article please provide their source? --GregE 04:15, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

The romanizations were found by www.filb.de, a site that always posts confirmed information. Past official romanizations were also revealed by this site like "Manaphy". --Lividore 13:33, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

It could just as easily be romanized as "Parkia" or even more likely, "Pearlkia" as "Paru" is a japanese romanization for Pearl. So unless you have an official source (i.e. Nintendo, or Gamefreak, rather than a fansite) then it'd be much easier to keep it as Parukia to avoid confusion. It's pointless to try and change the japanese names to look english, when they are intended to make sense in japanese. --ChaosEmerl 11:18, 29 September 2006 (EST)

What is not being realized is that "Palkia" is just the English way of saying "Parukia". Looking at the List of Pokémon by National Pokédex number, you will see many Romanizations of names that are not exact matches of either the Japanese or North American name. Besides, in less than a month, the actual North American name will be revealed and the articles will change accordingly. -SaturnYoshi 08:59, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

That's right, Palkia is just the official romanization of the Japanese name, not the English name. However, I think the article should be kept as "Palkia" (and Dialga too) for the time being, to stay in line with the rest of the Pokemon articles that use romanizations over transliterations (Buoysel, Naetle, Perap and so on). --Lividore 11:50, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

Unknown evos?

Why is it that it says "Unknown" in the "Evolves from" and "Evolves to" boxes? Palkia is a Legendary Pokemon, so it doesn't evolve into or from anything!—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.174.66.138 (talk) 00:15, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

Manaphy doesn't evolve, it can only create a new Pokemon by breeding. The resulting Pokemon, Phione, also can't evolve into Manaphy. No legendary Pokemon has ever evolved.

Parukia/Jirachi Link

I prefer the direct translation for now. Whether you like it or not, Palkia is the official name, and it stays that way for now. And stop adding in the Palkia/Jirachi connection, it's fancruft with no evidence to back it up. I've had to remove it twice now. Blue Mirage | Comment 13:04, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

Pearl glitch

Eterna City, supposed to be a statue of Palkia, but in my pearl version, it's Dialga with text about Palkia. I'll add it and anyone who questions it can ask questions. (May be Just my version, can someone else with a Pearl Version back this up)68.185.207.63 20:17, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Actually, looking back, comparing the two side by side, they look too similar, they are the same statue, but you could see it as Dialga or Palkia, due to similarities between the two, sorry to have wasted time....68.185.207.63 20:17, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

We need actual pages for each pokemon

If you don't add the individual pages for each pokemon, Wikipedia users trying to gain information on things such as type weaknesses will not be able to find the information here!
