This article has a highly Christian (specifically Catholic) perspective. The term officiant is frequently used to describe non-Christian clergy, but this article gives no consideration of this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.83.218.92 (talk) 01:04, 16 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

I agree. This article needs to be somehow combined with Celebrant (Australia) which appears to be the best history of civil celebrants and Funeral celebrant and Ceremony. Not quite sure how to do all this but I shall; put this entry on my list and see if I can tidy it up a bit!! Gladiator-Citizen (talk) 22:29, 16 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Further to my own remarks -- I would have no objection to this article being removed. There are a number of articles on Civil Celebrants, They are sometimes called officiants but this entry is religious in nature. I believe it serves no purpose but dilutes the whole scene. As far as I am concerned whoever has the power to do this - go ahead and delete!Gladiator-Citizen (talk) 00:28, 18 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
