Neutrality disputed

edit

Anybody have any idea as to why? --Atechi 06:00, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

the tone of "They are considered one of the big five bands (Death, Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse, and Deicide being the other four) of the Florida Death Metal movement that arose in the late 1980s. Their 1990 release Cause of Death is hailed as a seminal album in the genre" Spearhead 09:38, 28 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
is this not true? 85.138.0.158 16:21, 29 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
They <are> one of the big five florida death bands, if not the biggest (record sales wise, I would have to check on Morbid Angel), The second statement I can agree should be changed and am doing so now... Mwa Ha Ha Ha! --Atechi 07:47, 30 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
there are several issues here. "the big five" is never mentioned in other articles, esp Florida death metal. And five seems rather arbitrary (contrary to the big four of thrash). On what is "big" based?; record sales are just one aspect. For influence, Death and Morbid Angel are far above the other 3. I fixed some of these....

Among the Big Four of Thrash (Metallica,Anthrax,Megadeth,Slayer) ,Metallica sales-wise belong to another galaxy. Sales shouldn't be much of a criterion.

First and foremost "Cannibal Corpse" are not originally from Florida. I don't know why people say that they are Florida Death Metal. They are from Buffalo, New York. They relocated to Florida. Does that make them a Florida Death Metal Band? As far as influence goes, Hatebreed just recorded "I'm in Pain" from Obituary's "The End Complete" album from 1992. "Official" Internal Bleeding Lyrics

edit

There are no "official" lyrics for the song "Internal Bleeding" off of the album Slowly We Rot. Obituary has never published lyrics for any of their songs. The Obituary Music page on Roadrunner Records's website directly states there are no lyrics to "Internal Bleeding." The liner notes of the gold disc remaster of Slowly We Rot state that Obituary relies on "growls, grunts, and screams, rather than on lyrics." The so-called lyrics available on the internet are someone's personal interpretation. Accordingly, I cut out this section. Also, I believe that trivia about Obituary shirts in some movies were deleted. Why??? Thedividingline 05:58, 15 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Question for Frozen in Time

edit

Do you also have the vocals and 90% of the drums volume only in the left headphone/speaker? Or is my version of Frozen in time fucked up somehow?????--Lykantrop (Talk) 23:01, 8 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Only yourself! You should have made download of this album on the internet. Cannibaloki 13:41, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
I do not have an original copy of course. I've downloaded about 5 versions of that album and all of them were the same. The god dam drums are just in the left speaker. The production of that album is crap. But the music rules. --  LYKANTROP  21:23, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Go to the store and buy an original CD of the album! The album is mixed stereo, including the drums. The bootleg files you are downloading are the problem. Dirtrat 12:12, 8 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

"Influence" section

edit

Maybe a new influence section could be added... I found this interview where industrial metal act Static-X is admitting an Obituary influence [1]. Musicaindustrial (talk) 12:03, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Good idea! This article is still too small for a seminal death metal band such as the Obituary. Cannibaloki 13:26, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
