Notability edit

This is an exceptionally generic term. An article about a specific street in Cork, Ireland is undue. Should this redirect to Main Street or just be deleted? power~enwiki (π, ν) 19:32, 8 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hi power~enwiki, although it's not particularly clear where the line should be drawn when it comes to notability of streets, it does say on WP:GEOROAD that streets are considered notable if multiple secondary sources mention them. I would compare this page (historic centre of the city and main thoroughfare) to Washington Street, Cork (a street apparently notable for having a courthouse and being named after George Washington, but apparently mid-importance on WP:IRELAND) and Washington Street (Cape May) (a street in a population area of 4k apparently notable for a shopping mall, low-importance on WP:NJ).
I would definitely be in favour, however, with a move to North Main Street (Cork), with a disambiguation page here listing the former and Main Street. Wasechun tashunkaHOWLTRACK 19:14, 13 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Dungarvan edit

Just to mention, according to most of the sources on the article, the northern island that makes up the city (where the street is located) was referred to as the island of Dungarvan. I'm not really pushed if it's in there or not, just wanted to clarify. Wasechun tashunkaHOWLTRACK 22:23, 12 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
