Amazing Quite Amazing

edit

It was really amazing to see devotees from all religion visiting the Dargah for blessings. Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs & even foreigners visit this Dargah. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.239.89.1 (talk) 06:40, 13 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Article title

edit

The title of this article has a total of three spelling errors! I'm surprised that it has gone unnoticed until now. The proper spelling of the shrine, as shown on its website is Khwaja Gharib Nawaz (ख़्वाजा ग़रीब नवाज़ / خواجہ غریب نواز). I have requested an uncontroversial page move. Kwaja Garib NawajKhwaja Gharib Nawaz – three spelling errors within title AnupamTalk 02:08, 14 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

This is a contested technical request (permalink). DannyS712 (talk) 02:57, 14 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

The two spellings seem to refer to 2 different topics, the shrine or the saint. --DannyS712 (talk) 02:57, 14 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

User:DannyS712, the shrine is named after the same saint Khwaja Gharib Nawaz. The title of the article as it is right now introduces three spelling errors. Kind regards, AnupamTalk 03:41, 14 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Anupam: Are there any reliable sources about the spelling? --DannyS712 (talk) 03:42, 14 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
User:DannyS712, yes, there are many contained in the article about Khwaja Gharib Nawaz himself and the official website of the shrine I provided above corroborates that spelling. Thanks, AnupamTalk 03:54, 14 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Anupam: Except Moinuddin Chishti uses the spelling "Ghareeb" --DannyS712 (talk) 03:56, 14 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
User:DannyS712, Ghareeb is an alternative spelling of Gharib (see the Wikipedia article about this name). In Hindi and Urdu, these would be spelled the same way. With regards, AnupamTalk 04:05, 14 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Anupam: Thanks for the explanation. But, given that there is an alternative spelling, and that I am very unfamiliar with the subject area, I'm not going to move it myself now. Any other editor should feel free to, and if no one objects during this RM I will. Thanks, --DannyS712 (talk) 04:07, 14 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
