The word Nirmalyam translates to 'Remains' in English. Offering means 'vazhipadu' in Malayalam. Nirmalyam in a temple means to see the idol in the early morning, in the same way as it was in the last night, without garlands. See http://india.gov.in/knowindia/art_kerala_cinema.php for the correct translation. Thank you! -- Sreejith Kumar (talk) 08:04, 26 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Nirmalyam also translates to Yesterday's Offerings. The same meaning as given above; what you see on the idol is the remians of "yesterday's" offerings. See http://www.cinemaofmalayalam.net/mtvasu.html for details. Thank you! -- Sreejith Kumar (talk) 08:09, 26 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
