Nikos - man of strong values and morals

Nikolaos Kaklamanakis is one of the best athletes of our country. I'm really proud of him and what he has achieved so far. He's currently in the third place of Mistral races with only one race left tomorrow. Not only is he a great athlete but he's also an exceptional human being with strong values and morals. He's definitely one of those athletes who still know what sports are really about and that's fair play. Every parent would be happy if their child considered Niko a role model. A determined person filled with kindness who always knows that fair play is the most important thing in competing. Good luck to "Kakla" on the last race tomorrow.

22-11-2020 Nikos is featured in the Dutch TV series on the history of Europe - as a key public hero who dared to call out the widespread Greek practise of corruption - of the "little envelopes" - to bribe public servants, doctors, mayors, ministers which lead to the public debt of Greece of 15% which was masked to be only 4% until it was not possible to hide anymore and it lead to the huge Euro-crises and austerity measures for Greece. https://www.npostart.nl/in-europa-de-geschiedenis-op-heterdaad-betrapt/22-11-2020/VPWON_1285543 This corruption made that a son of a friend of a friend of the minister of sport was sent to the Olympic games in Korea - instead of Nikolaos and where the kid of course didn't win any medals. Nikos dared to call out the corruption in the Greek parliament and in court for which he was a bit later threatened he would murdered and even had to participate in the next championships protected by the body guards of the mayor of Athens. He is now a public hero in the fight against corruption and public speaker to stop this practise of the "little envelopes".
