Talk:Nick Hogan

Name

edit

Is he name legally Nick Hogan? It seems the other Hogans in the family is legally Bollea or whatever and they just use the alias Hogan in pop culture. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Unlocked (talkcontribs) 23:39, May 30, 2006 (UTC)

Standard usage for Wikipedia to use the name that is most generally recognisable, per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (people). In this particular case, the "stage name" of Hogan is much more recognisable than their real family name, legal or not. -Dawson 00:15, 31 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
He was born "Nicholas Allan Bollea", so yes. Mad Jack 16:30, 8 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Why?

edit

All the information on this page can be put on Hulk's page! They're family and Nick has not done anything of relevant importance!Yes he has appeared in MINOR roles in MINOR movies but that doesn't make he worthy of having a page on WP!Thank you.MgHoneyBee 01:56, 21 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

How "minor" was the role? He appears about as often as Hulk in the Hercules trailer, as I recall. I could see a "family" section in the Hulk page, with short bios of Nick and Linda and a "main article" link to Brooke. Can someone explain how the "trivia" section here is notable? Gimmetrow 03:43, 21 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
I do believe the AfD discussion resulted in a very clear consensus to keep this article rather than to merge it. It's not hurting anything to have this article; I suggest letting it be for several months and maybe re-evaluating it at that time. Powers T 11:33, 21 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Nope! this article shouldn't be merged. Nick needs a page. Maleman19 16:21, 26 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

I dont think it should be merged. He is his own person. Yes he is the son of Hulk Hogan, but he appears in Hogan Knows Best the same amount of time as Hulk or sometimes even more. He has appeared in movies, whether they are minor or major, does it matter? there are pages on this site of people that have no importance of being on here but there page does not get deleted. I think he should have his own page. user:MCoop06

They haven't been deleted because people like me haven't found them yet, please tell me what they are so I can nominate them. If we gave a page to every person who has ever been in the background of a movie the Wikimedia foundation's servers would have crashed already, so yes it does matter. Nick really doesn't do anything that important. He is just some kid who works at a BK. Hybrid 10:06, 10 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

He needs to keep his own page. Hogan & Nick are two different people. Son of Kong

Leave the page alone and stop trying to get rid of it. TareTone 05:01, 13 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

All these people who came here and expressed a desire for the page to be deleted pressed on Nick Hogan didn't they. So if they don't want to see the page so bad and think it shouldn't be here, why would they bother to click on it? Think you guys. THINK! TareTone 04:35, 15 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

We are not doing it because of any dislike of Nick, we just think that at this time he isn't notable enough to have his own article. Also, saying that we don't think is a personal attack; don't do it again and we will get along just fine. This isn't something worth getting upset over. Also, I am a Wikipedian who searches around the Wrestling and Pokémon communities looking for articles about people or subjects that don't deserve to exist; I feel that this page is one of them. So, I did not click on this page because I didn't want to see it, I clicked on it to see if it was an article that was good enough to exist and worthy enough to exist. At this time, I don't feel that Nick deserves his own article. I know that this is my own opinion, obviously not everyone shares my view, but there are obviously some people that do as well. I say, merge this article with Hulk's, delete it altogether, or expand it really quickly. Hybrid 05:40, 16 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

LEAVE HIM ALONE! hes a reality star, and a actor. he has appeared in movies therefore making him an actor. just leave the page alone, its not bothering you. People want it, so just leave it. for all those who dont want it, dont go to his page. simple as that! KEEP NICK HOGANS PAGE!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.65.178.176 (talkcontribs) 10:00, September 17, 2006 (UTC)

whose this Hybrid person and why did he write like a page's worth. I say leave this page alone too. It does no harm. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Shawcore (talkcontribs) 13:59, September 21, 2006 (UTC)
Calm down, calm down. It is just Wikipedia, don't get so upset. I wrote that much because I felt that the comments made deserved that much. Shawcore and IP address, sign your comments. This isn't about what does no harm; this isn't about him playing some obcenely small role in a few movies(I mentioned something about that before, read it); this is about what belongs on Wikipedia. There is no useful information about Nick on this page that wouldn't fit in well on Hulk's page, there is no information availible at this time to expand this absolutely pathetic stub, and this is not a notable person. He deserves mention on Hulk's, but there is no way to expand this stub and on top of that, he has not done anything notable enough to be on WP. His role in HKB is far below that of Hulk's and Brooke's, and the only thing that really makes people call him a star is VH1 doing it. He does not deserve his own article at this time, and that probably won't change until he is 18, if HKB lasts that long. Also, this isn't about me; for basic information about what I do on WP, read this whole conversation. My page long comments aren't hurting anything either. Hybrid 22:42, 22 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm glad this article wasn't deleted. Twentyboy 04:42, 12 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

I will NEVER stop working to get this article deleted! I care more about this article being aFD that I don't leave my house, I read archives of wiki case law stari decisis. I have a HUGE personal motive to get this page deleted, and I will always keep trying to use wikipedia policy to help my mission. 75.203.11.127 (talk) 02:40, 22 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Wrestler

edit

I just reverted the edit to add this line...

Nick has expressed interest in becoming a wrestler, but is mother objects.

Is this WP-worthy? Also should be his rather than is. --Anthony5429 06:36, 13 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

sure, it's wikiworthy :) Twentyboy 21:31, 18 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

You'd expect this guy to be 6'6 and have a massivve frame wouldn't you. He doesn;t even slightly resemble his father. Brooke looks exactly like her mother though ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:04, 6 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Nick isn't even Hulk Hogans son, his mom had an affair with one of the wrestlers —Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.71.145.155 (talk) 20:53, 15 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Crash

edit

Why doesn't his bio mention his crash? His father's page does, and links to here. I think it should be included, since it was fairly big news in the US. --Nvalley 00:41, 10 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

The information was removed by a vandal. I've added the sections back. --Mysdaao talk 13:04, 11 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Any updates to the crash? Has anything progressed? I know the courts are very slow, especially with civil cases. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.203.11.127 (talk) 02:41, 22 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
There have been in 2008 the following events for the civil suit. Four motions, and 5 status conference hearings. They were just "building stuff" like depositions, and subpeonas. They haven't even got yet to "discovery" phase, which is when both sides turn over stuff to each other. Civil lawsuits like this take so long and are slow because at every step, the lawyers gotta think and plan for appeals and can't make one mis-step or the whole thing will have to be re-done and all efforts plus time wasted. Discovery might not even happen in 2008, but a case can be settled once discovery has heppened. Hope this info helps. The case number is B400-621-90-267-0 and the Hillsborough Civil Courthouse phone number is available at http://www.hillsclerk.com/PublicWeb/Dept_Contacts.aspx#CircuitCivilDepartment and you can call the number and the operator is allowed to tell you over the phone stuff that you ask her. I told her I was a college student and doing a report on it (which was true by the way) so she might not do it for everyone. Also, I must warn people from putting stuff into the article because unless you have a law degree, its very technical stuff, and WP:BLP stipulates a very strict guideline of what content can go on the page of a living person (Nick has rights to privacy and some level of respect + courtesy as all humans do). I would say if someone wants to edit this info into the article, to make the tone sound like things are going slow and this is still in the earliest stage. And remember any part of the article that is negative about Nick that isn't verifiable has to be deleted immediately per WP:BLP Sentriclecub (talk) 14:51, 29 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Also, the kid's shape is improving. Graziano was taken off the drug which kept him in a coma (a customary procedure in neuorological injuries, allowing better healing) and he is responsive to heat and touch stimuli (which was a big factor in the Terry Schivo case--she couldn't) and the two news articles I pulled some of my stuff from are http://www2.tbo.com/content/2007/sep/09/grazianos-father-says-there-hope/?news-breaking and http://www.tampabay.com/news/publicsafety/accidents/article430085.ece but be warned it is gorey, and references part of his frontal lobe being crushed and necessitating its removal. The frontal lobe can be looked up on wikipedia, if you are interested in knowing its functions. Also, as a last point, Neurologists are the most expensive doctors, which is part of the reason that his medical bills are already over 900,000. Neurologists can bill over $250,000 for a single 6-8 hour operation (especially when it is a brain-trauma surgery). And about half that amount goes toward the M.D.'s malpractice insurance provider (which the insurance company pays out between 70% to over 100% to settlements as part of a cost of doing business, and lawyers always customarily charge 40% off the top of any settlement they win or settle.) This was actually what my paper was mainly about. For that operation, of that 250k, about 125k went to the MD, and 40% of the 90% of the remaining half of the 250k, is the statistically expected amount to go to lawyers who work on a contingent-fee for their client. Additionally, if the lawyer can convince a jury that rehabilitation might improve the Graziano man, the payout essentially doubles, as rehabilitative care for neurological injuries automatically include an upgrade to a better facility (definitely not the "nursing home" which this article states in the first section) but more like a spa. Google "neurological rehabiliation" to learn more, or check out the wikipedia article on it, as I've done some hard work on it. Sentriclecub (talk) 15:28, 29 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

'Adult' bio template?

edit

I noticed the Male 'Adult' bio template is used here... which was intended for 'Adult' in the sense of porn stars (note the 'measurements' and 'orientation' fields, and 'number of films'). Also, Nick is 17, so not even an adult in the common sense of the word. Suggest an appropriate template is substituted (maybe the 'Infobox Person' template)... but I leave that to someone with more time on their hands. --Kaepa talk 10:04, 16 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use image

edit

Image:Nick Hogan.JPG is used under fair use on a biography of a living person. It needs a fairly strong fair use claim to justify that, which I don't see here. Further, there is no specific source mentioned (just State of Florida department of corrections photographic records, which is vague), so where did it come from? The booking photo was in this article before and it was deleted. Gimmetrow 20:42, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

>Yawn< Great, awesome, you can have this. It's 15 minutes till happy hour, so I'll fiddle with Wikipedia again on Monday. --Endless Dan 20:45, 9 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

I plan on making the Phone Call Conversations more neutral

edit

I also removed "courtesy of national enquirer" since its not enitrely accurate. Also, the phone calls originally read like it was recent (2008) when in fact the phone calls described in the paragraph are from 2007. see here Also, in a few days, I'll spend some time making the overall article more coherent and in more appropriate wikipedia style (collapsing some of the former "recent styles" that are aging and are no longer within the last month) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sentriclecub (talkcontribs) 07:00, 5 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I am no fan of Nick "Hogan" Bollea, but these phone calls between him and his father are taken out of context. Referring to Terry "Hulk Hogan" Bollea's interview on Larry King Live, his father was trying to get his son to think positively towards the future, and give him something to to look forward to while in jail; this was not a family attempt to cash in on a tragedy. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 147.103.48.20 (talk) 10:40, 12 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

DanMirade stuff - what's up with that?

edit

There seems to be a large number of edits adding links to danmirade.com and then shortly after removing them. I think this issue needs to be discussed and resolved. Either these links (and the information they present) are notable, and should be included in the article, or they are not. Sherpajohn (talk) 17:20, 30 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

The account originally adding the link was Bostonwrestling (talk · contribs). DanMirade.com is hosted by bostonwrestling.com, so it appears to be linkspamming. Only explanation of its relevance: [1]. Even if Mirade has some notability, I see no indication he has expertise relevant to the Hogan incident, and therefore his personal opinion is not appropriate in a biography of a living person. Height

edit

His arrest record shows him being 6 feet you can see it here...i highly doubt that correctional facilities would give him a couple inches for his own insecurities. You must enter his DC number. It is R56855. [2]--Rlogan2 (talk) 16:51, 6 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

I can't see anything significant about his height. I know the height field was removed from at least the actors infobox. For those subjects where height is significant, it should be discussed in text, but the subject here is not known for being tall or short as far as I know, so why should anything about height be included here? Gimmetrow 01:45, 8 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
I don't see why it bothers you so much to have it there. I think the height of people is important and i'm sure other people feel the same way.--MrHello (talk) 19:48, 8 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
