Proper DAB
editAs a disambiguation page it should only contain pages called "National Trust" or containing those words ... or at the very least containing words that could be confused with "National Trust". There is surely no place for foreign language equivalents or organisations with similar aims but quite different names. I will improve it in that direction. I agree. It would also be nice if the one in England, Wales and Northern Ireland were more clearly marked as it's almost unknown under any name other than "The National Trust"... I don't know how that could be done though. 80.254.146.20 16:28, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
Propose move to disambig page
editThis page is incorrectly named and formatted. The (in Wikipedia known as) National Trust for Places of Historic Interest or Natural Beauty should be at National Trust as it was the first and best known "National Trust" and it is also the commonname as per WP:Commonname for that body and the others are not called "The National Trust". I will propose the main English NT article be moved to this title and this disambig page (where this page should be) have it's name changed to "National Trust (disambiguation)". Referencing this discussion at Talk:National Trust for Places of Historic Interest or Natural Beauty. Jamesinderbyshire (talk) 09:32, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
- Oppose per the other talk page. This page should certainly be sorted out but it should remain here and not be usurped by the England, Wales and Northern Ireland one. Best wishes DBaK (talk) 13:51, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
- Oppose for the same reason I gave at Talk:National Trust for Places of Historic Interest or Natural Beauty. --Simple Bob a.k.a. The Spaminator (Talk) 14:15, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
COMMENT do we really need this discussion here right now? Surely the proposal at Talk:National Trust for Places of Historic Interest or Natural Beauty makes this redundant i.e. there is just one proposal to discuss, not two. --Simple Bob a.k.a. The Spaminator (Talk) 14:15, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
- Re-entrant metacomment yup you're probably right, sorry. I just thought it had certain characteristics of a discussion-in-the-making and wanted to add my saddo 2.3p worth. I'll shut up about it here now. :) DBaK (talk) 14:35, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
Primary topic?
editIs National Trust for Places of Historic Interest or Natural Beauty the WP:primary topic for National Trust? Based on some links I've seen, some editors seem to think so. If that's not the PT, then all the links to National Trust should be disambiguated as appropriate, probably many will need to be piped: [[National Trust for Places of Historic Interest or Natural Beauty|National Trust]]
