Hoax?

edit

One 6 year old article on a website does not mean that this holiday actually exists. DoriTalkContribs 06:55, 16 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Actually, there are two links on the page so far, including a citation from Hallmark's Ultimate Holiday site stating that this holiday indeed "exists" and is celebrated. (Surely you're not suggesting that Hallmark is perpetuating a hoax on us all?) I certainly got a bunch of email about it that day, and Google finds plenty of very-unofficial references.
Does Wikipedia only sanction recognition of government-declared holidays, declaring all others to be hoaxes? (That seems rather extreme, but if it is the official Wikipedia policy, that could at least be made clear.) Or can other observances that have arisen without specific government recognition be found within Wikipedia, as well? --Thogek (talk) 01:10, 18 June 2012 (UTC)Reply
The fact that you "got a bunch of email about it that day" doesn't make it encyclopedic, and that's the real question here. Is there solid sourcing that people (outside of those looking for reasons to party/sell related merchandise) celebrate this holiday?
Government-declared is an irrelevant straw man here; no one's saying that because April Fools' Day isn't an "official" holiday its article should be deleted—but they might if the article couldn't be better sourced than this one. DoriTalkContribs 09:43, 18 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Should this be its own article?

edit

Without any real content, it seems like it could be merged into science fiction fandom or any similar page... — Preceding unsigned comment added by RogerCWalkerII (talkcontribs) 02:07, 3 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
