Need for sources Suggestion

edit

It looks like no new sources have been added since about 2017. New content about his recent work and personal life appears to be unsourced. I have no doubt that reliable sources exist for most of this content; these should be added so that this article is verifiable. I am happy to do so, but will be (very) slow about it.Firefangledfeathers (talk) 19:18, 24 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Origin of his father

edit

In the second reference of the article, and the article itself it's stated that Stephen Bargatze is of Italian origin. But I think it's not true. He might be of Georgian origin.

We also have Eduard Shevardnadze, Kakha Kaladze, and Lasha Talakhadze who all are Georgians.

I couldn't find a reference saying he is of Georgian origin. If you can find a reference saying so, please add it and delete the second one. Aminabzz (talk) 13:26, 10 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

I'm not seeing anything in the given source (or in older versions of that page). I've removed the Italian and clown material until it can be sourced directly. Same would need to be done of any claims about Georgian origin. Sam Kuru (talk) 14:48, 10 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
Why don't we take our work seriously and do the necessary research to have a properly encyclopedic article? There are a lot of people with the Bargatze surname in the U.S., and they descend from someone with the Pargätzi surname (which is of Romansh origin), who immigrated to the U.S. from Switzerland. He's not of Georgian heritage despite the coincidental similarity of the "-ze" suffix. These two sources provide the necessary background: https://www.geni.com/people/Simeon-Bargatze/6000000000960540615 and https://www.genealogy.com/ftm/b/a/r/Sherrie--L-Bargatze/FILE/0001page.html 98.123.38.211 (talk) 02:27, 1 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Old Hickory

edit

Nate specifically says in his act and other places that he is from Old Hickory, TN, which is near Nashville and part of the metropolitan area. However, there is no mention of Old Hickory in his Bio, though his mentions of it make it seem like a significant part of his history/identity. Would adding reference to it be unwarranted? 104.172.54.25 (talk) 09:22, 29 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Spelling of first name

edit

The current choice of how to spell his full first name is an odd one, not being the standard spelling. What is the source? My inclination is to amend to Nate or, at least, to Nathaniel. 91.238.198.26 (talk) 07:12, 28 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

The source is Nateland podcast episode 166 where he says it's Nathanael. 45.159.153.141 (talk) 13:19, 4 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

snl record?

edit

i am not sure why he was back on less than a year since his first time, but google AI claims "no person has ever hosted 2 years in a row". so is he the first?

it's the type of thing i'd expect to find in every review of the show, plus a zillion reddit threads. yet i don't; am i misinterpreting something?

some mention of how "fast" his turnaround was, but nowhere is anyone using the term "fastest". 2601:18A:8080:EA60:E4A7:8D8F:6CFE:9632 (talk) 12:30, 7 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Many have hosted in back to back seasons, some have even hosted twice in the same season. Steve Martin hosted three times in season 3. John Goodman did consecutive seasons 10 times at least. Sam Kuru (talk) 14:44, 7 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
wow. so much for "AI overview"!!!!
for the "no consecutive seasons" part, at least. "none twice in SAME season", otoh, shows up in multiple HUMAN-scribed articles. so i guess "humans v machines" remains a draw -- we BOTH suck! 2601:18A:8080:EA60:B505:A34A:EC6F:65E (talk) 21:55, 9 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
