The Moon is Down

edit

In reading Suzanne Finstad's book "Natalie Wood: The Complete Biography," 2020 and Lana Wood's book: "Natalie Wood: A Memoir by her Sister," 1984, I don't believe Natalie Wood appeared as "Carrie" in The Moon is Down movie released in 1943. The Zakarenko (Zacharenko) family moved to Santa Rosa in September 1942. That is where they met director Irving Pichel who was in Santa Rosa making Tomorrow is Forever in the period from June 13 to July 20, 1943. Pichel put Natalie in that film as a girl who drops and ice cream cone. This was Natalie's first brush with Hollywood. The Moon is Down was filmed in Los Angeles in November-December of 1942. The Zakarenko family was nowhere near L.A. at this time and had no Hollywood connections. I've seen this film listed in her filmography on several sites. I think it is an error. I have not been able to find any real evidence that she was in The Moon is Down. REDOjai (talk) 17:13, 17 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
