History:
My mother's grandmother's son, Robert Tepper, was Natalie Arras Tepper's husband. Although a distant cousin, my mother was close to Natalie, and as a youngster I recall playing outside their house in Woodstock, N.Y. Upon her death, Natalie left her possessions to my mother, including some $35,000 USD 1950 which my mother used to buy property and build the house I grew up in New Jersey. There were also about four of Natalie's paintings which hung in my father's office for some 35 years until my father retired. The images and references on this Wiki page are from items handed down to me.
Critical to an artist's place in history are often the decades after death, before her works become generally recognized, when personal information is in jeopardy of extinction. Neither Natalie nor my mom could have imagined when they chose which items to pass along that a marvelous thing called Wikipedia would capture some of Natalie's history. My hope is those who have Natalie's work hanging in their abodes will also contribute to this page.
