Musion Systems Limited

edit

It appears like this article was originally written as a sort of advertisement for Musion Systems Limited so it will probably be important to remove/modify references to the company. We know for certain that AV Concepts also uses the concept. Does anybody know if Musion Systems Limited created the technology that the company should still get a mention for that?

Inventor of the here used Pepper's Ghost Technology is Uwe Maass (owner of eventworks Dubai), Patent Holder, who set up his first installation at the Swarowski Musion in 1996 in Austria. Xida2001 (talk) 18:15, 25 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Uwe Maass is the inventor of the so called Musion System Eyeliner, Uwe Maass is the patent holder and inventor of the system, Musion is a company that did acquire some rights to commercialize the patent, regarding AV concept just like the WALL STREET Journal "According to the Wall Street Journal, a British company, Musion Systems owns the patent on the Mylar-screen process that was used to project the hologram onto the stage at Coachella, and AV Concepts is a licensee on that patent." For the record there are many several resellers around the world Japan, Germany Italy ..... The Pepper Ghost technology as they all use it today is an invention of engineer Uwe Maass. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gpalma71 (talkcontribs) 14:51, 28 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

This article is about the technology, not the companies selling/reselling it. The inventor of the afore mentioned technology is as the patent documents verify Mr. Uwe Maass. I can confirm Gpalma71's comment that there are various resellers worldwide. I suggest we either stick to talk about the technology/product here and skip any reference to resellers or we will have to mention every single reseller worldwide which would be quite a huge list. The problem is that this product/technology is unique, which does not necessarily mean all resellers do have exclusive licenses what resellers sometimes try to pretend.--Ninjakentaro (talk) 13:25, 8 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Disaster!

edit

I know that the ride Disaster! at Orlando Studios uses Musion Eyeliner technology to allow Christopher Walken to appear. Should that be mentioned in this article? Ryan Vesey Review me! 12:29, 17 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Judgeking keep deleting my editing

edit

I do not know why Judgeking keeps on deleting my information about Uwe Maass as an inventor of the system used by Musion. I also do not know why he does not answer my questions regarding that. Please see the information I put there and tell me what is wrong with that.m "The inventor of using Pepper's Ghost Technology with a film instead of glass is Uwe Maass (owner of eventworks Dubai and Patent Holder - please follow this link to see the patent on Espace Net).He set up his first installation at the Swarowski Musion in 1996 in Austria." see the links here Patent EspaceNet So it would be nice Judgeking if you could explain why you delete this. Xida2001 (talk) 08:04, 26 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

What "gibberish" are you deleting? I think you have a personal interest to hide the real inventor of that system, especially as you do not explain yourself.Xida2001 (talk) 21:40, 26 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

I've explained myself several times, your edits make no sense, stop reverting them. I've done my best to clean them up. --Judgeking (talk) 05:01, 27 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
What you mean with "clean up"? You do not want that the systems inventor is mentioned in the article? As far as Musion was one of the first licensees of Uwe and they are using his technology which is proofed by the Patent links I put in (juste read them) it is mandatory for me that he is mentioned as all the others using his system. I also already filed a complaint about your deleting my edits. In the beginning you said, my English is poor and the Patent is German (which is not true), now I gave the link to HIS US Patent AND the European and I clearly mention that HE invented the use of film with Pepper's Ghost instead of glass which everybody can understand. The article is about Musion Eyeliner and that is HIS invention so I do not see any reason to delete my edits.Xida2001 (talk) 05:10, 27 April 2012 (UTC) Xida2001 (talk) 06:30, 27 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
Xida2001, I don't know how to explain it to you, it's not my job to teach you english. The text 'The inventor of using Pepper's Ghost Technology' is not a sentence. You're also just repeating text that appears later in the article. Can't you read? The first section of the article states that 'The system was created and patented by Uwe Maass. He set up his first installation at the Swarovski Museum in 1996 in Austria' What else do you want? Why do you insist on re-adding your more poorly worded edit? Judgeking (talk) 16:55, 27 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
Xida2001, here are some reasons why the sentence you have repeatedly added was removed:
  • The information you added is already present in the article.
  • The sentence in question is poorly worded, incorrectly capitalized, and awkward.
  • Your use of external links is not consistent with Wikipedia policy.
Does this make sense? If not, is there some way that I can help to clarify this further? Augurar (talk) 20:55, 27 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

I think that Uwe Maass has to be mentioned in an article about MUSION EYELINER. Uwe Maass invented the system and the first show was 1995 in Austria (Swarovski) together with André Heller. I know this very well because I worked for MUSION and Uwe Maass from 1998 until 2002. Uwe Maass is the patend holder and he was the first person who set up the first Eyeliner. Uwe´s german company at this time was called MUSION. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.35.158.172 (talk) 09:09, 28 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Xida2001, are you aware that you were adding duplicate information? With this edit you reproduced an entire sentence up in the lead that was already provided in the body of the article: "He set up his first installation at the Swarovski Museum in 1996 in Austria". It is hard to see any argument for including the same information twice. Please reconsider your views about this. Thank you, EdJohnston (talk) 15:23, 28 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
Just let me explain:

"Your additions are unreferenced, uncited and in such poor english that they are unreadable. You need a citation if you want to add that info, the link to the 'patent' is not enough, especially since it's in german. Judgeking (talk) 18:45, 25 April 2012 (UTC)" That was the first remark from Judgeking after deleting my comments. I thought Wikipedia is a place of knowledge and discussion, so I would have expected not just deletion (are we at school?) but maybe a suggestion how to enhance it. So I changed the website where the link points at and you can see the European Patent now completely as there are English and even French parts in it and a bit later also added the US Patent. For your understanding, I wanted to say, that Uwe did not invent Pepper's Ghost, but the use of Pepper's Ghost technology with film instead of glass. Judgeking kept deleting and also did not answer my talks (only after the blocking now). Then, with the 5th revert he put the information he mentioned in the "Product" chapter, which I did not recognize, after 4 times only deleting. I think Wikipedia is a knowledge base where people from around the world work on. The behavior shown here recollects my time at school way back.

I was in talks now with Uwe to see if the information is correct. Because "The product is sold and licensed by Musion Systems Limited in the United Kingdom." is mentioned on the top of the article and Uwe is the inventor of the system, that statement needs to be followed by "The system was invented and patented In the US and Europe by Uwe Maass.[1][2] He set up his first installation at the Swarovski Museum in 1995 in Wattens - Austria." So no more confusing mentioning of Pepper's Ghost and then we can delete this in the "Product" chapter and I hope we all agree on that. Hopefully my English is good enough for everybody to understand what I mean. Xida2001 (talk) 21:45, 28 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

I definetly agree with giving credits with the statement reguarding Uwe Maass. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gpalma71 (talkcontribs) 22:06, 28 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hatsune Miku

edit

"this technology has been used in Hatsune Miku Concerts, due to the fact that they are fictional characters"

this is not true, as far as I know, Hatsune Miku live performances have made use of a different technology, at least until now!--Ninjakentaro (talk) 13:28, 8 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Is Musion Eyeliner3D really holographic?

edit

Its website claims so, but is it really holographic i.e. uses encoding of the light field as an interference pattern? cmɢʟeeτaʟκ 12:04, 23 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

No - it's just a glorified Pepper's ghost and so neither "holographic" or even 3-d (beyond the image appearing in front of things behind the screen). Louis Knee (talk) 21:10, 27 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
The Musion patent Reference 3 is incorrect. The U.S. Patent 8,328,361 shows here: http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&u=%2Fnetahtml%2FPTO%2Fsearch-adv.htm&r=7&p=1&f=G&l=50&d=PTXT&S1=Musion.ASNM.&OS=an/Musion&RS=AN/Musion -- Steve -- (talk) 20:47, 29 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

…Isn't this just Pepper's Ghost?

edit

The Pepper's ghost works the exact same way as this. Why is this its own page, rather than a subsection on the Pepper's ghost page? Right now, it seems like mostly a stub puffed up with a bunch of unencyclopedic ad copy. Ithinkiplaygames (talk) 02:20, 27 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
