Yes, but the proof?

It was great seeing the show's cast reunite for this film. However, I didn't understand its resolution. How was Monk supposed to have proven that Rick Eden arranged Griffin's death—by finding the doctored measuring tape Eden's henchman had made? How would a measuring tape made by someone else connect Eden with the murder? (Indeed, earlier in the film, Eden killed the henchman to prevent him from telling anyone.) For that matter, how could the henchman, a delivery-truck driver, make a convincing copy of something like s retractable measuring tape? (Did he happen to have a measuring-tape-making machine in his basement?) For a series that was usually so cleverly logical, it seems sad that Monk's final solve was so nebulous. 2001:569:72B0:D900:1506:13FD:A471:85BF (talk) 08:39, 1 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
