Neutral Point of View

edit

I've just added a note on NPOV to the main article. The middle paragraphs of this article, paragraphs two through four, make sweeping statements about Clondalkin socially and economically. I feel that it does not justify these statements. In particular, the article states that "large amounts" (no numbers given) of social housing were constructed and that this proved "disastrous", bringing big city problems to a semi-rural village. By failing to provide a deeper, nuanced explanation of this, the article implies that the people who were given places in the social housing schemes were responsible for the area's problems, including any decline the school has suffered.

In a related example, Dublin's inner city areas are described as "deprived", with no references or qualifications, and without any explanation of what they're deprived of.

A discussion of the social climate in Clondalkin is not necessary here except as it relates to the school. If the article is kept to what is relevant, the remaining statements might be easier to keep neutral.

These are well known facts in ireland. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.96.32.154 (talk) 17:46, 29 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Then prove it with citations, please. I've deleted huge chunks of this article just now and, frankly. query whether it is even satisfies the WP "notability" guidelines. It definitely needs citations and if, as you claim, such things are "well known" then presumably there is no difficulty in someone providing them? - Sitush (talk) 01:54, 9 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
