Jefferson's "mosquito fleet" This phrase could be mentioned somewhere. It was heard during an AP History course

Other countries? edit

I am pretty sure other countries used the term "mosquito fleet" too. Perhaps this could be mentionned?D2306 (talk) 11:17, 18 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Needs lots of work edit

The list is not completely chronological. There are no references. There are stylistic errors. Yopienso (talk) 01:59, 14 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

British Columbia usage edit

So far I've only found one cite for this; File:Fishing boats-the mosquito fleet, Prince Rupert, British Columbia (HS85-10-31727).jpg - in the caption of that image, where it's used for the fishboat fleet based in Prince Rupert BC. I've heard the term before, mostly in reference to fishing fleets I think; unlike in Washington where the ferry fleet and sundry steamships is what's meant; I don't think the term was ever used for the armada of small steamers and water taxis in the Gulf of Georgia...maybe. Just dropping this as a reminder that the USian-only context of this article needs some adjustment/research....pretty sure it's been used in the Caribbean and in SE Asian waters, too.....Skookum1 (talk) 03:48, 5 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
