Talk:Monster Hunter Frontier Z

Hi, this is my first article, so i would appreciate it, if you would edit any info.

You have done a good job so far. If you add any more info, please make sure it is sourced by a reliable first-party or third-party, such as IGN, isn't speculative, and that it's good info. By doing this, this article will be awesome! SuperDT 15:16, 12 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Open Beta edit

First section states "An open beta test will be held after the game hits retail this Summer", this seems very unlikley to be true. Beta testing would be finished before the game is released to retail.

Regarding the boxarts edit

If you can't find a proper pic with that cover, then the 360 version will have to be used. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.97.59.123 (talk) 03:08, 18 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

need more info edit

what else do you have? you could put that in there... Grim6666 00:48, 31 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

MH is an adventure game, hack 'n slash is an insult.

Hack n' Slash is not an insult, it's a genre. And Monster Hunter fits the tag of Hack n' Slash perfectly. Who says that video games can be one genre and one genre only? 71.119.84.124 12:23, 19 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Apparently, it'll be out in North America right away. Like, within weeks. But I'm not sure. Tancuras —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.161.34.101 (talk) 20:32, 12 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Capcom has repeatedly stated that bringing MHF to America is unprofitable and isn't going to happen in the near future. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.242.115.90 (talk) 08:56, 20 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hmm well bringing Frontier to the 360 is unprofitable.. unless itll be in AMERICA! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.199.100.223 (talk) 05:40, 25 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Americans don't forget the Europeans they have money too...and they don't care about your blasted region locks, they hack their way past it creating lag because they circumvent the region lock. so region locks wont work, rather they have the opposite effect.(personally i don't care about those hacking turks and laggy Russians) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.96.189.76 (talk) 17:14, 19 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Release date edit

2007? who the hell did that? In any case I've changed it to TBA. Hopefully someone else knows an actual date —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.149.61.88 (talk) 08:35, 13 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hypnoc edit

The 'as-of-yet-unnamed' wyvern is the Hypnoc, so I edited that. And, as for downloadable content, online games like these must make all changes to the game mandatory, in the sense of a patch that all players must download. If not, players without the patch would have their game crash when they came into contact with another player bearing the downloaded files. -Tancuras —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tancuras (talkcontribs) 05:43, 26 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've taken out the "Hypnoc, a bird-like wyvern exclusive to Monster Hunter Frontier, Volganos, which resembles a Plesioth, but is seen in the Volcanos. The " Hypnoc, a bird-like wyvern exclusive to Monster Hunter Frontier, Volganos, which resembles a Plesioth, but is seen in the Volcanos. The " because Volganos and Hypnoc aren't exclusive to Monster Hunter Frontier, they're also in Monster Hunter Portable 2nd.

Fair use rationale for Image:MHF logo.jpeg edit

Image:MHF logo.jpeg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

release date???? edit

does anyone know if or whenMonster hunter frontier is or will be released??? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jds500 (talkcontribs) 19:54, 10 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

While I don't really think this is the a place to discuss this, I feel it's worth talking about. Capcom currently doesn't have an actual online division for the US and UK, so the main thing is that they have to try to establish one. The western divisions, according to what I've seen on their forums and news blogs, do truly want to get Frontier to the western audiences, particularly after the great success of Tri, and are pushing to do so, but it is currently unknown how long it could take to reach fruition, or if it even will. My own personal belief is that by the success of Tri and, as of late, Portable 3rd, Capcom will decide to get the project going, though even then it will take quite some time before they're able to actually release it. If I had to guess, it'd take anywhere between 3-5 years in all to see a release. I don't really know myself, though. Also, I just saw this was made 2 years ago. Well, I guess that tells you how well Capcom USA's efforts are going then... Kishgal (talk) 21:29, 25 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

How much information are we looking for in this article? edit

There's a lot of differences between Frontier and every other Monster Hunter game. It's unbelievable unless you play it, but as they add more patches, the differences are even larger. As a player myself, I could rewrite this article with the massive list of differences, but is that wanted? Right now the article is pretty outdated, most of the information has some kind of changes to it and certainly just about everything can be improved upon.

Certainly at the very least, the giant paragraph with the information about new monsters should be turned into a list. The amount of new monsters currently in the game that aren't present in any other game makes a paragraph like that look very sloppy, and even more so that it's outdated and even more has been added. If I were to add to that single paragraph, it would get even worse. 00:02, 29 April 2011 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Polantaris (talkcontribs)

Overlap with Monster Hunter Frontier G edit

This article seems to be starting to overlap with Monster Hunter: Frontier G now. I think we should either merge the articles or keep both articles free of overlap. The latter would mean removing all reference to FG, as well as anything to do with PS3, PSV and Wii U, since those are MHFG not MHFO. Does anyone else have any opinions on this? -Southrop (talk) 00:28, 28 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
