Council of Constantinople edit

The one intended is presumably the Fourth Council of Constantinople (Roman Catholic) (869-870), which affirmed the Second Council of Nicaea (787). The subject-matter was the Byzantine Iconoclasm controversy. Both councils ordained that veneration of images was not only permissible but decreed. However - there seems to be nothing in the proceedings of the 4th Council banning any particular type of image (see Article 3). The sentence about the sun and moon may have been introduced from Italian Wiki. It looks to me like original research. Narky Blert (talk) 11:51, 28 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Seeing no source for this I have removed it. It was noted in 2017 and no change has been made in three years. It's no small claim that this violates the decree of an ecuminical council and I don't want to leave it in unsourced. RedOak350 (talk) 14:03, 8 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
