Why would the origin be slowakian? just because the words look a bit the same?? I'll put it to you that the origin is Dutch, it comes from 'Molenaar' (man operating a mill), or perhaps from Swedish (Mjölnar). That is all much closer than the Slowakian 'Mlynar' then it might as well be Chechk: Mlynář, or Croatian (Mlinar), or Estonian (Mölder).

Nope, the Dutch sounds the most like it.

Fact is I have not seen any proof or reference that this is of Slowakian origin. Most likely it is of ancient Germanic origin (Old Norse: mylnari) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.159.150.221 (talk) 16:56, 27 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
