Lake Murray Reservoir edit

The City of San Diego owns the water, but the City does not own all the land, that Lake Murray lies upon. Lake Murray was never at any point in time, legally incorporated into the City of San Diego's park system. It is not incorporated into Mission Trails Regional Park or Lake Murray Park. It is zone A-R-1-10, or Agricultural/Residential, not OSP or Open Space Park. SECURITY PACIFIC NATIONAL BANK v. Ordinance Number O-17281, adopted April 17, 1989 edit

Ordinance Number O-17281, adopted April 17, 1989. This ordinance was adopted after the San Diego City Council voted to rezone "City owned" property to Open Space Park, as per the San Diego City Council Minutes, dated April 4, 1989, Item 337, No. 5. Zone Map Drawing C-779, was the designated drawing used to define the borders of the City owned property, that was rezoned to Open Space Park. Lake Murray was not included in this map, because the City did not have complete ownership of the land that Lake Murray lies upon. MMiller805 (talk) 17:49, 24 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

The City acquired an easement agreement to flood this privately owned property, from Helix Irrigation District. The deed of said rights, was recorded Dec. 15, 1961, under File No. 217422.
