Merge proposal

edit

I propose to merge Minister of Human Resource Development (India) into this article since there is not enough content to qualify two separate articles. -- Pankaj Jain Capankajsmilyo (talk · contribs · count) 10:17, 17 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

Oppose - Article Minister of Human Resource Development (India) also contains list of union ministers from 1947 till date. This article belongs to [Category:Cabinet of India] and [Category:Union ministers of India]. See these categories for similar articles on Union ministers of India. Unless List of Ministers in these articles has a stand alone article, the merger should not take place. Jazze7 (talk) 12:11, 19 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned references in Ministry of Human Resource Development

edit

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Ministry of Human Resource Development's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Change of name from “Ministry of HRD” to Ministry of Education (India)

edit

On 29 July 2020 the Government of India changed the name of the Ministry from Ministry of Human Resources Development to Ministry of Education. [1] Agastya11 (talk) 10:43, 29 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

The Government of India has cabinet the meeting with the ministers and approved the rename as Ministry of Education (MoE) changed from Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) in National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

On 29 July 2020 Wednesday WikiOnlineWeb (talk) 21:54, 29 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

The cabinet approved the policy, but the name of the ministry has not been changed as yet. The policy is a guideline/advisory? The name change has still to be legally announced? A case of TOO SOON maybe? Or is the name change in the wikipedia article correct? DTM (talk) 11:25, 31 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

WP:TOOSOON for sure, name should be changed only once it is officially changed. Announcement is one thing, implementation is another. Support restoration to "Ministry of HRD". SerChevalerie (talk) 13:47, 31 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
The ministry has has made an official announcement on their website. https://www.mhrd.gov.in/major-initiatives. {{cite web}}: Missing or empty |title= (help) Agastya11 (talk) 17:10, 31 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
True, the name has changed on the website. DTM (talk) 09:21, 1 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
The last update on the website still refers to it as Ministry of Human Resource Development. It still might be a case of too soon but not then again probably not for long. Tayi Arajakate Talk 01:22, 2 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
I think the mistake that I am making is that the NEP is one thing while the ministry name change is another. They are just separate things that happened at the same time. DTM (talk) 14:20, 2 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
