Mike Sekowsky's departure from DC Comics. edit

WRHBill@aol.com wrote: "I read somewhere, probably in the ALTER EGO issue spotlighting Mike Sekowsky and his career, that (supposedly) the JASON'S QUEST issues of SHOWCASE sold very well and the series would have gotten its own book if not for DC office politics... Sekowsky and --- were at odds by then and --- wanted to fire Sekowsky, and eventually did.

"Of course-- assuming the story is true at all-- presumably under work-for-hire conditions DC could have continued JASON'S QUEST with a different writer, artist and editor if they had thought it was worth keeping the series going without Sekowsky."

So I wonder if something should be added to the section "DC Comics", since the next section, "Later Career" just begins with "Upon leaving DC..."? Something about being forced out by ---, perhaps? Thanks, Darci (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 00:11, 18 January 2011 (UTC).Reply

Only if we can footnote it with a reliable-source citation — issue number, page number, and specifically what it says. Pretty much standard operating procedure under WP:V. Also, since one the people you mention is still alive, we cannot put uncited accusations even on a talk page, under WP:BLP, so I've redacted the name. --Tenebrae (talk) 00:28, 18 January 2011‎

Mike Sekowsky is not Jewish. His family is Catholic and he was raised Catholic. The article that was cited [2] sounds like it is based on the sound of his name, which BTW is Slovak. PPerito (talk) 02:03, 26 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Good point: That cited article included him in a list of what it called Jewish-sound names, but did not specifically say Sekowsky was Jewish nor did it give any Sekowsky-specific biographical background. I've removed that phrase. I did not add "Catholic" since we'd need a published, reliable-source citation for that as well. --Tenebrae (talk) 15:44, 26 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
