Why mixed Catalan-Spanish name?

The title of the article is Miguel Ángel Moyà, the first name follows the Spanish rules (the Catalan form would be Miquel Àngel); the last name follows Catalan rules (the Spanish form would be Moyá). Is there some reason for this rather odd solution (the footballer is from Majorca, Balearic-Catalan speaking autonomous community)?--Carnby (talk) 12:56, 18 November 2016 (UTC)
