editFISM ranking 3. Come on Michael - in that year the standard was so low that for the first time in the history of FISM they did not award any prizes. They gave somebody a bronze or third prize to avoid embarrassment. Michael you did not even place that year and you came maybe two places further below. So you have the cheek to claim you came 3rd. At least you tried Welshmagician (talk) 23:35, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
Besides Chris Power actually won card magic at FISM and I don't think Chris has bothered putting up a page about himself.Welshmagician (talk) 00:08, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
You won Ron Macmillan which is a dealer convention you should say that and not say you did international magician of the year. Welshmagician (talk) 23:39, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
This reads like an advert from Michael. Welshmagician (talk) 23:41, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
Just bad form. No way to verify most of what is in there and uses flattering language about himself. It is obviously you michael doing yourself some good publicity. You can't list every small scrap of your activities like going to Eton for heavens sake! And then 3 websites. This is an encyclopaedia not a fan page Welshmagician (talk) 23:50, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
He is a decent magician and I hope I can improve the page so that it is not a fan page but has some references which can be proven.Welshmagician (talk) 00:07, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
- From the history of the article, the Eton college photos and discussion of his visit were added by the students themselves. I have restored much of the article, edited to remove peacock terms and tagging for citations needed. Do not remove the references listed, they are valid and from a subscription news archive. I have no interest the article, or the subject. I only added the references. Welshmagician, please read more about editing Wikipedia, and talk page etiquette. Please do not use the talk page to make personal attacks on the subject of the article. The slash job you did to the article was unjustified and removed the work of several editors, not simply the article's creator. You also removed a photo with no justification whatsoever. It has been restored. You are welcome to improve and expand the article, add inline citations, and make careful, selective edits for accuracy. But do it properly, please. - Note re the photos: If you had clicked on the photos, you would have seen that they all had a valid license. The permission does not have to be displayed in the article, and shoudn't be. That's what the file page is for..Voceditenore (talk) 01:44, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
- Note re references: They do not have to be online as long a full bibliographic information is given. Please read WP:CITE. Voceditenore (talk) 03:28, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
Very nice edits, thanks. He is actually a very nice man and a good magician. Am pleased that you have made this more neutral. I will take a look to improve it also. Welshmagician (talk) 18:51, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
Just took out some small things which I can't verify. I can't see references to his books - he sells them on his website maybe and so I wonder if this is proper to leave in? This looks much better I must say. Welshmagician (talk) 18:57, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
Should this page have a Disambiguation pages - lots of Michael Vincent's around...Gregg Potts (talk) 11:51, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
