Jazz edit

Why is there no mention of Michael Franks and jazz? I've only heard his Art of Tea album, but the entire thing is jazz. Miles away from folk rock.

I agree. Jazz has to be mentioned. Riki 19:35, 15 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

I believe that "Antonio's Song" must be mentioned. This song is included in "Sleeping Gypsy" album and sung about Antonio Carlos Jobim. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 218.41.119.37 (talk) 13:43, 12 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

agreed, in my opinion his most outstanding song. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 223.205.249.28 (talk) 03:22, 26 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
I believe the song "Abandoned Garden" (and perhaps this whole album) was also dedicated to Jobim. Lyle (talk) 19:26, 4 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

There is no Wiki page for the Franks album "Sleeping Gypsy". In this page the text links to the Rousseau painting of the same title. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 57.70.73.25 (talk) 05:36, 23 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Guitar Player Also edit

Michael plays guitar also - is not just a vocalist. I believe he uses guitar to compose, is cited as a player on Previously Unavailable in the liner notes, and he frequently plays guitar during live performances. Lyle (talk) 19:26, 4 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

University High in Irvine? edit

The reference to Michael Franks at University High in Irvine must be in error. Irvine was not an incorporated city until around 1968 or 1969. Uni High was founded in Irvine circa 1970. Being born in 1944 would put Michael in his mid-20s at least when the high school was founded. A little long in the tooth for a high school student.

More likely, MF attended University High School in San Diego. AT http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_San_Diego_High_School

Muzoboz addition edit

178.217.27.77 recently made this edit:

In 1990 he recorded song Speak to me, which became the main theme for russian TV-program Muzoboz.

His account hasn't been used for spam, I think this could be legitimate. We need a reference though.
