- Shhhhush! He might also turn out to have been a journalist for the BBC. There would then be no chance whatsoever of denying the clearly unfounded charge of nepotism visavis the career choice of his son Roland. Hmmmmm, wonder if he's good chums with the Snow and Dimbleby families.1812ahill (talk) 03:08, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Michael Buerk.jpg
editImage:Michael Buerk.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
Moral Maze on Marriage: Valentines Day 2024 (discrepancy)
editDuring BBC R4's Moral Maze aired on 14 February 2024, Michael Buerk discussing the decline in marriage, said he had been married 54 years! This would make his marriage date 1970 and not 1968 bio?
By chance on the same evening Evan Davis on his PM programme asked Michael about his own Valentines day routine. Michael again said he had been married 54 years, so it is unlikely to be a slip of the tongue on two seperate occasions, on the same day?https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m001w8cr
It is worth noting he was at the start of his career in the late 60's sharing a house with fellow journalist Sue Lawley.
My inclination is to update the marriage date to 1970.

- They did marry in 1968. You can see their marriage entry in General Register Office; United Kingdom; Volume: 9a; Page: 47 2A00:23C6:1A45:7B01:E30D:C391:510F:AF98 (talk) 21:36, 15 March 2024 (UTC)
