Traditional counties edit

The addition of "Traditional county: Lancashire" seems to me to be quite accurate. Why is this constantly being reverted (with the reason given as "vandalism by Countywatch vandal")? So far as I know, Knowsley was once part of Lancashire, so there shouldn't be any problem with listing it as the "traditional county", no? David L Rattigan 17:29, 1 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Knowsley still is part of Lancashire. 84.9 is a complete nutter who has been banned for his incessant vandalism and refusal to comply with agreed naming conventions. Lancsalot 18:06, 1 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
No it isn't. I wasn't banned for vandalism it was for calling idiots idiots, and pointing out several POV warriors like yourself, it was characterized as personal attacks, but up to you normal levels of accuracy--84.9.193.155 21:33, 1 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
It was "historically" part of Lancashire it's not a matter of tradition. The group going around adding this claim that a comment by an undersecrtary means that traditional counties exists as entities in their own right. It is rubbish.--84.9.193.155 21:33, 1 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

What we Are edit

I really dont care wether we were once in Lanacashire or not? I would rather be recognised as Merseyside as oppossed to Lancs, as being a merseysider is more to my identification than being Lancastrian. Being from Huyton I prefer to be called a Liverpudlian or scouser against being called a resident of Knowsley which has no identifiable name for its mish mash of residents, the name knowsley itself makes me cringe as Knowsley its self is a fusion of different identities glued together for god knows what reason. While Huyton, Cantril farm and Halewood all are part of the geographical streets of Liverpool, IE half way down streets in these areas it is defined as Liverpool as oppossed to Knowsley(cringe again). Where as Prescot , Cronton and Whiston are more Lancastrian or relate more to their mother town of St Helens. Kirkby on the other hand is neither one or the other as it is not attached to any other City or town, its more of a new town that was conjured up for the displaced from Liverpool and lancastrian areas which surround it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.163.114.22 (talk) 09:02, 15 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Seems to flow better right? Just making sure my grammar is still correct. Please contact me on my talk page if it's not right. Washburnmav (talk) 18:38, 14 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
