Are technosexuals the same as mechanophiles? I don't know. --Triton Rocker (talk) 21:28, 25 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Criminal prohibition edit

The article states that mechanophilia "is treated as a crime in some nations with perpetrators being placed on a sex-offenders' register after prosecution". A book is cited (well done Wikipedia, you're getting better at this!), but still, I don't think that's quite good enough here. Which nations treat it as a crime? And what kind of acts exactly do they treat as a crime? Are there any notable cases anywhere that we ought to hear about? We really need specifics in matters like this. They don't need to go in the introduction, but can have their own section. Statements about legal situations around the world are very often vague and do not give details, to the point where they often appear to be highly dubious. Due to the differing nature of legal systems and political landscapes around the world, it is not a straightforward matter to accurately catalogue things like this, so if someone has done it properly it ought to be clear from what they have written. If the book simply says what it says in this article we need to tone down mention of it to something like "one author states that..." instead of simply reproducing the vagueness. I think having "Maria from the film Metropolis" image here is wrong, since it has obvious female looks. So it's more like sex-bot. 14:51, 23 May 2015 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gendalv (talkcontribs)

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to 2 external links on Mechanophilia. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Image caption edit

Isn't the caption " A Mechanophiliac in its natural habitat " just some trolling ? I acknowledge the topic is kind of funny but still...

Added the different types of Vehicles that would fall under this article edit

I added trains, since I have a love for subway trains myself as well as other types. The vibrations of the floor and seat and the sounds of the flanges screeching and the deep vibration and rattling noises can be very sexy (I grew up in New York City a little). I also re-arranged the motorcycle section and added how it could turn into a philia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.38.254.195 (talk) 08:14, 19 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

Reverted. We go by WP:Reliable sources. The sources should state what mechanophilia is. Furthermore, we don't need many examples, and you moved things out of the lead (introduction). Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 10:42, 20 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
WikiDude6210 (talk · contribs), I explained why I reverted you before. So I reverted again. Singing up and using a registered account does not make the edits any better. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 06:57, 9 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

Flyer22 Reborn I see, I didn't see your response before. I get it (lol) — Preceding unsigned comment added by WikiDude6210 (talkcontribs) 08:57, 10 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
