Confusing pronouns

edit

Whoever wrote up this article needs to go through it and check their uses of she, her, he, him, and his. It seems like half the sentences appear to refer to the nun as male. Also, the sentence describing her appearance to the pirates makes it unclear as to who was trying to kill whom. Please fix. Cygnata (talk) 14:27, 23 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Possible Jewish ancestry

edit

It seems that Mary of Jesus de León was descended from Jewish convert to Christianity, like St. Teresa of Jesus or Mary of Agreda. The surname "de León" it is a Jewish surname, many great rabbis, writers and Jewish theologians had this surname, including: Moses de León, or the famous czech rabbi Judah Loew ben Bezalel (Loew = León, de León). I reported that when the first European settlements in El Sauzal (where Maria de León was born), as were many people from diverse backgrounds, including Jewish converts who fled the Inquisition in the Iberian Peninsula. I think possibly this alleged Jewish descent is not listed in his official biography because at that time there was a tendency to hide. In fact in the case of St. Teresa de Jesus it was not known who had Jewish ancestry until well into the twentieth century. If anyone has more information, it would be interesting to put them in this article. Greetings.--88.10.53.75 (talk) 18:15, 9 May 2015 (UTC)Reply

It may be that ancestors had converted Jews but this figure does not appear anywhere or any page on Google for talking about this mystic nun. I think it's better that information is not added until referencing.--79.158.133.9 (talk) 08:46, 30 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

One-source/self published

edit

The entire article seems to be sourced from a PDF that contains spanish blog posts, none of which are authoritative at all. Either the article needs to be re-written or additional sources need to be introduced to support. A sentient pickle (talk) 02:41, 10 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
