Mary McEvoy wikipedia entry - incorrectly credited portrait

edit

I am the grandson of Ambrose and Mary McEvoy and have put up the website "Ambrose McEvoy.com" which is a database of the paintings and drawings of Ambrose and Mary McEvoy held by the family and others. This can be used for comparative purposes. I am convinced that the image accompanying this entry is not painted by Ambrose McEvoy, but rather by Mary McEvoy and that it is not a portrait of Mary McEvoy but rather of an unidentified sitter. I have no literature references for this assertion, but in this have the support of Philip Mould whose gallery recently mounted a major exhibition of the works of Ambrose McEvoy. For reference, see the water colour drawing by Ambrose McEvoy of Mary McEvoy - The Artist's Wife, on the Tate Gallery website https://www.tate.org.uk/art/artworks/mcevoy-the-artists-wife-n06081 HettCharles (talk) 20:29, 13 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
