Fabricated footage

--The article notes that "Perkins fabricated the footage of a mass suicide of lemmings on Wild Kingdom[1]." with a footnote. However, the footnoted article, while mentioning Perkins, attributes fabricated lemming footage to Walt Disney. Not that Perkins didn't fake lemming footage. But that footnote doesn't support it. --Clownbird.

--Old NYTimes article supports Disney being responsible for the lemmings fraud. However, there is still criticism against Wild Kingdom and Perkins for "staging" some of Wild Kingdom.

Granted the focus of this entry is on Mr. Perkins, but shouldn't some mention be made of his loyal sidekick, Jim?

I've just tagged this image for deletion on Commons because it is a derivative--a photograph of a copyrighted sculpture--which Commons cannot host. If this article's editors think that usage here may comply with relevant criteria for non-free content, then upload it to Wikipedia and provide a Non-free use rationale. Given that the man's long dead, it will probably be non-free at any rate, so you might as well find a screenshot unless there's also a particular reason to discuss the sculpture. In the movie "Club Paradise" (1986), in a gag that is also a tribute to Perkins' intrepidity, a rival hotelier tells Jack Moniker (Robin Williams): "Face it, Jack -- you got rooms here that Marlin Perkins would be afraid to enter".
