Monastery destroyed? Or just the mausoleums?

I can't tell if the whole monastery was destroyed or just the mausoleums. The mausoleums were priceless artifacts and centrepieces of the monastery, to be sure, but I'm seeing reports of the monastery being recaptured by Iraqi forces and it appears there are still standing structures. News reports in 2015, when it happened, said the monastery was destroyed, but detailed descriptions only noted explosives rigged to the mausoleums. Perhaps we'll get some clarity in coming days? aremisasling (talk) 14:20, 20 November 2016 (UTC)
