The Varmas in kerala and the Maniyanis are different groups. The Varmas may claim Yadava lineage but they have mixed with other royal communities and Nairs to become what they are today. Its possible that both these groups may have shared some ancestors but in today's social structure, both of these groups should be treated different and standalone sects with no connection whatsoever.
